Two year anniversary picture!

This weekend I am celebrating my two year anniversary of healthy living.  What better way to celebrate, than by attending my son's first body building competition!  I have learned a lot in the last two years.  I am so much stronger, mentally and physically, than I ever thought I was.  I have learned healthy habits that I will use for the rest of my life and I have learned how to be dedicated and patient.

  1. Dear Lori:
    Congratulations!!
I saw you in a message from Debra Mazda and loved it. My name is Claribel and I live in Costa Rica, I am Professor of Physics and Astronomy, I have 59 years, three children and two grandchildren. For 10 years my weight has increased now being very overweight, I want to start and you are a great inspiration for me, I need to know how was your start in terms of exercise and your meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) Maybe too early to tell how it goes.
    A big hug!

  2. Hi Clar!
Thank you so much for the kind words and sweet message. When I first started out, I had not exercised in years. I began walking on a treadmill for about 15-20 minutes, 4 days a week. I slowly increased that over time and at the one year mark, I was walking 3 miles, 6 days a week. I became bored with the gym at that point and began working out at home using Leslie Sansone dvd's. I found Debra Mazda's dvd's a few months ago. I usually work out for 45 min. to an hour, six days a week with the exercise dvd's. For breakfast, I eat either oatmeal or steel cut oats topped with honey or splenda and fruit. Today I had half of an apple, a strawberry and a few blackberries on top of the oats. I also like a little bit of sugar free french vanilla coffee creamer on it and coffee to drink. For my AM snack I usually have 1/2 C. egg substitute, scrambled in with baked veggies and topped with salsa and lemon pepper. For lunch a boca burger, progresso light soup, salad or a sandwich. PM snack is usually a banana with some wheat thin flatbread crackers and a wedge of laughing cow light cheese. Dinner is usually chicken or fish...red meat on occasion. I use whole grain buns, bread, pasta, tortillas, etc. For my night time snack, a cup of plain, nonfat yogurt sweetened with splenda and mixed with fruit. I have a lot of recipes on here that are fairly easy and very good. Please add me on Facebook! A friend and I started a weight loss support group on there and we'd love to have you join us. Thank you again for the very kind message!
    HUGS~
